Document Accessibility Overview

Alongside Vision Australia, we offer a number of WCAG 2.0 & 2.1 Compliance Audits for groups of documents and organisation publications as a whole. This process is useful for organisations who are unsure how to improve their accessible document creation or would like to know that their documents work for an end user.

For those with a basic understanding of document remediation or designers looking to see how their designs impact accessibility, the basic document is a time and cost efficient review of 1-10 documents. Examples are given in general across the body of work, and an explanation of why a certain element is not accessible is given.

The major areas looked at include:

  • Colour contrast and layout
  • Navigation and hyperlinks
  • Tagging and metadata
  • Complex information (e.g. charts and tables)
